If I am too much,
Then please go and find less.
There is no need for your touch,
Your lukewarm caress.

And don’t bother apologizing
For what you don’t understand.
It’s meaningless to not mean it,
It’s just sleight of hand.

My heart always points
Towards the people who need it.
Unfortunately, those people
Rarely know how to receive it.

So do not lie to save face
Or pretend like it is you.
I will show you some grace.
And keep living my truth.

If I am too much,
By all means, go find less.
My heart will heal,
I have the scars to attest.
